The challenge

A developer portfolio has two jobs. It has to present real projects clearly to recruiters and clients who skim, and it has to prove, just by how it feels, that the person behind it can build something polished.

The content is varied: web work like Situs Digital, a native macOS data viewer, machine learning experiments, a GPU fluid simulation, embedded ESP32 projects. It needed to read well in English and French, since Victor splits his time between Lausanne and Montréal, and stay fast despite heavy assets. And because it is also a calling card for the studio, it had to hold up to the same standards we promise our clients.

What we built

We structured the site as a single scrolling page with five numbered sections (overview, about, expertise, projects, contact) and a menu that jumps between them. Each project card shows the dates, a one-line description, the stack as tags, and a link to the website or source code, so a visitor can judge a project in a few seconds.

For the feel, we kept the page clean and quick: pages stay fast despite heavy assets like large project images, and a live clock for Lausanne and Montréal and a theme toggle add character without getting in the way. The CV is built automatically on request, in English or French, so the version a recruiter downloads is always the current one and nobody has to export and upload a new PDF after each change.

The site is fully bilingual with next-intl under / and /fr, with its own sitemap, robots file and metadata per language. It is our test bench: patterns that work here, like the numbered section system and the bilingual SEO setup, end up in our client projects.
