Who is responsible

Situs Digital is a web design business operated by its founder, Victor Frangov, with locations in Montréal (Québec, Canada) and Lausanne (Switzerland). Victor Frangov is responsible for this website: he is the person in charge of the protection of personal information under Law 25 and the controller under the nFADP.

What we collect and why

• Contact form: your name, e-mail address and message, plus anything you choose to include. We use them only to answer your request and, if you become a client, to prepare a quote and carry out the project.
• E-mail and phone: when you contact us directly, we receive your contact details and what you tell us, for the same purposes.
• Anonymous statistics: Vercel Web Analytics records the page viewed, the referring site, an approximate location (country, region, city), the device type, the operating system and the browser. It uses no cookies, counts visitors with a hash of the request that is discarded after 24 hours, and only gives us aggregated figures. We cannot identify you from them.
• Technical logs: like any web host, Vercel processes your IP address, browser information and the page requested in order to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. These logs are kept for a short period.

What we never do

We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not use it for advertising or profiling, we do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not ask for sensitive information.

Cookies

The site sets a single cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers whether you are browsing in English or French. It contains no personal information and is deleted when you close your browser. There are no advertising, social media or tracking cookies.

You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site still works and simply shows its default language.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers that run the site and our e-mail, and only what they need to do so:

• Vercel Inc. (United States): hosting, delivery of the site and anonymous statistics.
• SMTP2GO, operated by Sand Dune Mail Ltd (New Zealand): delivery of contact form messages to our inbox. It keeps e-mail headers for 35 days.
• Apple (iCloud Mail): our e-mail inbox, where messages you send us are received and stored.

Where your information is stored

These providers may process information outside Québec, Canada and Switzerland, including in the United States, the European Union and New Zealand. We choose providers that offer an adequate level of protection: Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Frameworks, and the other providers protect information through their own security measures and contractual commitments.

Other than these providers, we only disclose personal information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Messages from the contact form, e-mail or phone: as long as needed to answer and follow up, and no more than three years after our last exchange, unless you become a client.
• Client records such as quotes, contracts and invoices: as long as accounting and tax laws require, which is up to six years in Québec and up to ten years in Switzerland.
• Anonymous statistics: kept in aggregated form only; the visitor hash is discarded after 24 hours.
• Language cookie: deleted when you close your browser.

How we protect it

The site is served only over HTTPS, access to messages and client records is limited to the founder, accounts are protected with strong authentication, and we only work with established providers.

If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify the people concerned and the competent authority, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask at any time to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to withdraw your consent, or to receive it in a structured, commonly used format. Write to victor.frangov@situsdigital.com; we answer within 30 days and it is free.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca) or with Switzerland's Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (edoeb.admin.ch).

Children

The site is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Other websites

The site links to client websites and to our LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram pages. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
